In 1996 HPUMC’s Carpenters for Christ completed its first home with the Villa family.  This was the beginning of a 100 home commitment with Habitat for Humanity.  The WillieBuild 2010 Home was ouse #68. We hope were able come out and get to know the family while we joined together to build their new home.

There are lots of ways to help. Visit the SCHEDULES & MAPS and VOLUNTEER links listed on the right.

Willie was 3 when we built our house.  We went to check on construction each day and we parked at our aunt and uncle’s house next door. One day he wanted to stay in the car but I wouldn’t let him stay by himself so he grudgingly came along with me.  The workers had just poured the concrete for the back porch and had a sign saying to stay off.  He couldn’t read and took off running out the back door, slipped and fell, and left a big impression of his rear in the newly-smoothed concrete.  He looked at me and said, “ Ya see, you should have let me stay in the car!” ~Lisa
